- Working as part of a team under the direct supervision of a project manager or project engineer, the candidate will be responsible for performing CAD related tasks including but not limited to:
- Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D) to create and revise drawings for structural components, including horizontal and vertical bracing components, mechanical/bolted connections, and foundation elements
- Collaborate with structural engineers to understand project specifications and translate them into accurate technical drawings
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from engineers and project managers
- Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and company policies
- Improve efficiency of deliverable development process by evaluating current CAD production and communication processes and modifying procedures as necessary
- Develop/update Drafting and Engineering Standards
- Attend in-the-field training to relate as-built conditions to structural plans
- Set up and maintain an organized file system for production drawings
- Research on-line resources for site-related data assimilation
- In addition, the candidate will be able to effectively communicate with fellow co-workers and clients in the following manner:
- Respectfully and confidently discuss project concerns, questions, and solutions with clients and inter-company personnel
- Demonstrate the necessary interpersonal skills to thrive in a team-oriented work environment
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office
- Prior experience with structural/mechanical engineering projects is required
- Prior experience in the telecommunications industry is strongly preferred
- Current aptitude or ability to develop an understanding of regulatory requirements, building codes and basic structural related design practices is required
- Able to read and interpret construction, shop, or design drawings
- Possess mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to develop finalized construction drawings from preliminary sketches/drawings with minimal direction
- Experience working with and creating dynamic blocks is preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining CAD standards preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

High School diploma and Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school. Graduation from a drafting program of a recognized technical institute or one to two year(s) of related experience and/or formal training in AutoCAD; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered based on Hiring Manager decision
Experience
At least four (4) years of CAD work experience in the mechanical/structural/engineering or related field that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description, preferred.
