Summary
Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to be responsible for developing and producing CAD layouts, detail drawings, construction drawings, sketches and diagrams as necessary to support our Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Tower Infrastructure Inspection teams. Specific drafting areas will include various civil infrastructure projects (including telecommunication structures) encompassing a variety of site and structural elements. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
Working as part of a team under the direct supervision of a CAD manager, project manager, or project engineer, the candidate will be responsible for performing CAD related tasks including but not limited to:
  •  Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software (AutoCAD) to create and revise drawings for infrastructure-related engineering projects including telecommunication infrastructure
  • Set-up sheet layouts, templates, and details necessary to support various engineering teams
  • Improve efficiency of deliverable development process by evaluating current CAD and field-to-CAD communication processes and modifying procedures as necessary
  • Drafting finished designs from field/hand sketches
  • Complete structural steel installation and fabrication details following AISC steel standards
  • Develop/Incorporate CAD standards to company production processes
  • Develop AutoLISP programs to improve department/company efficiency
  • Attend in-the-field training to relate as-built conditions to structural plans
  • Work with reference files and cell libraries
  • Consult with the Engineer and other department staff as necessary
  • Research on-line resources for site-related data assimilation
  • Perform field investigations and measurements to obtain site data

Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Programming knowledge preferred
  • Prior experience with civil/structural/mechanical engineering projects is required
  • Current aptitude or ability to develop an understanding of regulatory requirements and basic civil and structural related design practices is preferred
  • Able to read and interpret construction, shop, or design drawings
  • Possess mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to develop finalized construction drawings from preliminary sketches/drawings with minimal direction
  • Experience writing AutoLISP and VBA programs is preferred.
  • Experience working with and creating dynamic blocks is preferred
  • Experience developing and maintaining CAD standards preferred
  • Excellent visualization and math skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Personal computer skills and use of related software applications.

Education
High School diploma and Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school. Graduation from a drafting program of a recognized technical institute or one to two year(s) of related experience and/or formal training in AutoCAD; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered based on Hiring Manager decision

Experience
At least one (1) year of CAD work experience, including internships or co-ops, in the civil/mechanical/engineering or related field that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description, preferred.

Prior experience in telecommunications industry is preferred.

Travel
Minimal travel, approximately 10%, will be required.
